Taste

Do you recognize this? Sometimes you can almost taste someone's perfume. I remember one time I was eating diner with a whole group of people and couldn't enjoy my diner because every time I opened my mouth I could taste the perfume of the woman sitting next to me....
Have a nice Sunday!

Lieve Meisje-

Happy, happy birthday !!!
May you enjoy many more, in good health, and fragrant as well...

No one wants to taste another's perfume at the dinner table.
Bah ! Vis !
[Is that how you spell it? It's been so long, I'm rusty...]

Thank you so much Chaya, you rememberd. I had a wonderful day yesterday.
"Vis" means fish, "vies" means dirty or nasty.

The good:When this happens to me I pretend I am eating turkish delight, ***if I can*** just sip some wine and forget about the food on my plate. Of course, you have to love the offender's perfume. I would gladly eat the mist of Samsara instead of a pile of mashed potatoes or whatever.
The Bad: Of course there are times when it is disgusting (the man who bathed in sweet man-perfume because he 'didn't have time" to take a quick shower and change clothes before dinner.
The woman who wears loads of some dreadful perfume.
These people are the reason we invented buffets and stand up cocktail parties, we can weave away from their waftings.
Many a sit down dinner has been ruined by your nearest neighbor's foul breath or dandruff flakes. So what if he is a famous orchestra conductor? He's TOO CLOSE! make him stop leaning into me!

Hi Giselle,
You made me laugh, I know it could be worse than tasting perfume.

You know that when you can actually taste something in the air, like perfume, it has been metabolized by your liver. When I was a girl we would use a lot of hairspray, and the taste would get in our mouths. I later learned in one of my nutrition classes why that happens.
It's interesting, because that never happens when I am working in the studio, close quarters, with lots of aromatics. Perhaps I am at the point where my liver has just said enough already and flown off to Vegas for some big fun and heavy gambling.

Hi Zz, I don't have that problem as well when I'm working in my perfumery room. I don't understand why that happens with some perfumes. It's like the molecules are flowing in the air.
